This policy covers favicon-checker.com. The site has no accounts, cookies or ads, and it counts visits without tracking individual people.
What we collect
Each check stores:
- the hostname you entered (not the full URL you typed);
- the time of the check and what we found: icon tags, HTTP status codes and headers, file sizes and dimensions;
- copies of the icon files themselves, up to 128 KB each, so the result page can show them.
Results are public. Anyone can open favicon-checker.com/<hostname>, search engines may index those pages, and they are listed under Checked sites and in our sitemap.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies and shows no ads. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a small script that records the page, the referrer, the browser type and how fast the page loaded. It uses no cookies and builds no profiles of visitors.
Your IP address
To stop abuse, the number of checks started from one IP address is limited. The counter lives in Cloudflare's rate-limiting service for about a minute; we do not store IP addresses with results.
Third parties
The site runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which processes requests and keeps its own short-lived logs under its privacy policy. We use no other processors.
Run a site that was checked here and want the result gone? Email privacy@favicon-checker.com with the hostname and we will delete it.
